The cherry grows in central and southern parts of North America, from the plain to the mid-mountain heights. It reaches no more than 20 metres in height with a trunk of up to 40 cm. The trunk is often regular, with as much regular wood tissues. The black cherry is a medium hard wood species with warm reddish hues, making it one of the most precious woods.
